Greetings ~
The 1960s brought the youth of America and Europe more freedom and with that Rock and Roll opened a whole new chapter. The music was getting louder and bolder. The looks more outlandish and, of course, the drug scene.
One of the things that adding fuel to the fire was a pop group that exploded on the scene from England. The Beatles! John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
The Beatles came to the American shore in 1964 and stayed for three weeks performing on the ever popular TV veriaty show, The Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday nights at 9:00 pm. It was not the beginning of Rock and Roll, but it was surely a turning point in pop culture.
The Beatles were different. They wore they hair different and they talked different. Even their music was different. And as we got to know these four "lads from Liverpool", We grew to like them almost instantly. They liked to have fun. When the cameras were rolling or not, John, George, Paul and Ringo went out of their way to endear themselves to the American public, the young American public. They cracked jokes and committed practical jokes on each other and on others as well. They seemed like a plain fun-loving group of guys.
Over the years that the Beatles were popular, thousands of photographs were snapped of them. And hundreds were taken of their antics with each other. This blog showcases many of the fun times that the Beatles had. Many of the pictures here you may have never seen before. So I didicate this blog, not to the Beatles themselves, but to the photographers that brought us the Strange World of the Beatles.
